Without these technologies, the rendering effect will be poor; For example, it will seriously restrict the application of simulation algorithms and physical algorithms (which will consume a lot of CPU performance). Without these applications, the simulation effect will also be poor; This includes limiting all other project applications that consume CPU or GPU resources. Therefore, we need a more efficient terrain mechanism that can achieve 1) support for finer terrain and 2) support for more efficient terrain rendering. The new generation of terrain systems can achieve centimeter level fine-grained terrain worldwide, 3D roads globally, and 3D rivers globally. At the same time, they can run efficiently on general discrete graphics machines.
