In this season of spring, Jumbo 3D Innovation and Creativity Science Education Base welcomed a group of special visitors - teachers and students from Fujian Wuyi College of Product Design. They spent a fulfilling and meaningful morning here, discussing the application and practice of 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies, as well as the great potential of these technologies in future development.
Wuyi College, as a university under the construction of the National Industry-Education Integration Development Project and a national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, has always been committed to fostering students' innovative spirit and practical ability. The arrival of the delegation is not only an opportunity for learning and exchange, but also an opportunity to stimulate students' innovation and vitality and think about the future.
At the Jumbo 3D Innovation and Creativity Education Base, teachers and students first visited the 3D printing studio and witnessed the wonderful transformation from design drawings to solid models. students were amazed by the rapid prototyping ability of 3D printing technology, and they showed great interest in the prospect of the application of this technology in the field of product design.
Afterwards, a professional lecturer from the base brought a special lecture on 3D scanning technology to the students. The lecturer introduced in detail the principle of 3D scanning, the operation process and its wide application in various industries. The students learnt that 3D scanning can not only provide accurate data support for product design, but also play an important role in cultural heritage preservation, medicine, architecture and other fields.
During the course, students also experienced the whole process of 3D scanning and printing. Under professional guidance, they used a 3D scanner to capture data from a physical model and transformed this data into a physical object in their hands through a 3D printer. This theory-to-practice learning approach greatly enhanced the students' understanding and application of the technology.
In the communication session, teachers and students actively asked questions and discussed in-depth with the technicians of the base about the specific application cases of 3D technology in product design.
