On May 7-9, 2024, the 10th Asia 3D Printing Additive Manufacturing Exhibition was held in Shanghai, and China Classification Society (CCS) was invited to participate. During this period, CCS issued Principal Acceptance (AIP) certificates for Additive Manufacturing Powder Bed Melting Technology, Additive Manufacturing Arc Melting Technology, and Additive Manufacturing Powder Preparation Technology to Tianjin Luming Laser Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Inigma Industrial Automation Technology Co., Ltd., and AVIC Maite Additive Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., respectively, marking the official entry of the additive manufacturing technology industry and services into the ocean.

Additive manufacturing has the characteristics of high technological time freedom, short time, high complexity, and high value, and is an important technology to promote the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry. The process and industrial structure of additive manufacturing/repair have greatly improved the utilization efficiency of raw materials and energy, responding to the national policies of green shipbuilding and low-carbon emission reduction. CCS officially released the first domestic ship additive manufacturing inspection standard "Additive Manufacturing Inspection Guidelines" in 2021 and actively participated in the preparation of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) additive manufacturing recommendations.

At the exhibition, CCS technology experts gave a keynote speech, focusing on the strategic layout and service capabilities of CCS in ship and marine engineering additive manufacturing, and analyzing the application prospects of emergency additive repair in ships.

In the future, CCS will continue to strengthen industry collaborative innovation and actively promote the application of additive manufacturing technology in the industry.
