Recently, the Expert Committee of the Inter Ministerial Joint Conference on Standardization of Chinese Translation of Foreign Languages approved the 16th batch of 18 recommended Chinese translations of foreign language words.

The Chinese translations of the foreign language words to be recommended this time are all related to artificial intelligence, information technology, and other related terms.

The words selected for this translation are mainly from experts' recommendations and the Research Report on the Development of Artificial Intelligence Big Language Model Technology (2024), the Action Plan for the High Quality Development of Computing Infrastructure, the 2022-2023 Evaluation Report on the Development of China's Artificial Intelligence Computing Power, and the Report on the Development of Embodied Intelligence (2024), with reference to the alphabetic words appearing in the new words in 2021-2023, and the entries issued by the National Science and Technology Commission.

This time, it is recommended to use Chinese translations of foreign language words. After expert review and corpus verification, experts believe that the 16th batch of translation screening work is meticulous and the methods are scientific. Based on the analysis of online corpus and corpus verification, experts and relevant industry departments are fully consulted, taking into account the scientific and universal nature of the translation, which is conducive to the promotion and application of the translation.
